Come to hear from Michael Kannon of Idle No More Winnipeg on Tuesday, April 8th. The subject of his talk is the mission statement for Idle No More Winnipeg:  We are going to tell the truth. We will tell you the truth about land, water, and our relationships with each other.  The evening event will take place at North Kildonan United Church at 174 Pentland St., between 7:30 and 9:30 pm, and is sponsored by the Kairos North East Justice and Peace Committee.

Michael Kannon is from the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation just north of Winnipeg on Highway 59. As a child he experienced firsthand the struggle of post Residential School era family crisis and Children’s Aid Society. He was then 60’s Scooped by a Methodist minister and his teacher wife family in Tennessee. After completing 6 years in the United Stated Marine Corps, Michael journeyed back home to Manitoba.

Here is a brief clip of some of the life lessons he has learned along his interesting path.
